Street Fighter; Chun-Li!

Chun-Li

After doing those Street Fighter guys last weekend, I wanted to do another character, so...

Also, I was recently told about a charity for children with multiple online auctions right now selling celebrity items. To be totally honest, I hadn't really heard of it before (so feel free to do your homework) but it's called "Clothes Off Our Back" and it was apparently started by the "Malcom in the Middle" mom Jane Kaczmarek and Bradley Whitford.

Of particular interest is the Simpsons stuff. The Homer Etch-a-Sketch is rather cool :) Only a few days left on it though! They have Hurley's skull cufflinks too!

I sure had a lot of fun when I was younger, running around yelling HADOUKEN!

Street Fighter Weekend; Blanka!

I decided to get some Street Fighter characters out there. I haven't had a ton of time to do all of them, but I did want to get a few out there, and this weekend was as good enough a time as any. If you don't see your favorite this weekend just bear with me. There's always room in the future for more.

Anyway, while I've never been a huge gamer I do have a fond connection to Street Fighter 2. I would often accompany my friend on his paper route and afterwords we would hit 7-11 to play their arcade games. Sometimes they had NARC or Double Dragon, but my favorite was Street Fighter 2. My friend was quite good, and he would often get really far in the game and hook me in. His character would die, and in the countdown to continue...10...9...8...7... I'd frantically rummage through my pockets and hand over my quarters when he was out.

Gaming is a whole different ball game today obviously, but if you've never played Street Fighter in a 7-11, you've missed some rad times.

See ya Saturday and Sunday!

'Tis but a scratch!

Monty Python's "The Black Knight"

As a kid, I remember being at a friend's house and he put on "Monty Python and the Holy Grail". I had never seen anything like it in my life!

I didn't really know anything about Monty Python then, so I was wondering why all these bizarre things were happening. All I knew is that I was laughing and having a great time.

There were a couple of moments in the movie where I really "got" the spirit of what this thing was - the Killer Rabbit... and of course, The Black Knight. Good times :)

Psych!

Shawn Spencer and Burton "Gus" Guster

I'm not really a huge follower of crime/murder investigation shows, but while "Psych" could fit in that category, it's way different. When I first heard the concept of "a guy with heightened observational skills who pretends to be psychic and starts a detective agency with his friend Gus", I was immediately intrigued.
It didn't disappoint, as the hilarious 80's references and playful banter between the two longtime friends really hit all the right notes for a fun loving 80's kid like me.

I also love seeing Shawn and Gus spar with the Santa Barbara police while still making sure they keep their "psychic" ruse a secret. It's on the USA Network in the States and on NTV in Canada. I don't know if it's everyone's cup of tea, but check out an episode and see what you think!
